If you don't write your story, it is a story that will go untold.

Weekly Workshops

We have two types of weekly workshops. One workshop meets every other week and is for writers with a work in progress who would like feedback from other writers. This workshop is limited to four writers and the moderator. Our next group will begin the middle of April.

Each week, writers bring five to eight pages of their work. Another writer will read the piece aloud so the author will hear how a reader interprets the piece. At the end of each page, the group stops to point out sentences that reached out and grabbed them, sections they have questions on, or grammatical errors they picked up on. If you are interested, please call for the next availability.

In the second type of weekly workshop, we write new material. We didn't learn to play a sport by sitting on the sidelines and watching. Neither will we learn to write or improve our writing by dreaming of some day becoming a writer. During our workshops we write. We are writers because we write.

We believe in our work so we set aside time from our busy schedules to gather in a supportive environment to write in the moment in response to exercises provided. We share with others and listen to their responses to what we are doing right, what they will remember, what they find strong.

Our brains are divided into two sections - the creative part and the editor part (do not discuss this with your physician, he might not understand). If the two parts were to duke it out, the editor would win; therefore, we check him at the door. We only allow the creative part of our brains into workshop.

By doing this, you will write like you have never written before. You will tap into what is in your heart and soul crying to come out, and you will tap into the creative energy that flows through a room when writers together in a group put pen to paper.

Our weekly workshops are suitable for writers of all genres and skill levels - beginner to master. Call for start date of next workshop.
